Operation Policy

 

1. General Principles

① ASTRA: Knights of Veda (hereinafter the “Game”) is a game developed by FLINT Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the “Developer”) and provided by HYBE IM Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the “Company”), and is operated in accordance with the Operation Policy below. The purpose of this Operation Policy is to ensure efficient use of the service by users and to protect users’ usage rights.

② This Operation Policy serves to supplement the matters set forth in the Company’s Service Terms and Conditions, and contains the game operation standards necessary for users to use the service, including restrictions on usage for violations of the Service Terms and Conditions and procedures for filing an appeal for usage restrictions.

③ The Company may add, change, or delete this Operation Policy in order to minimize user inconvenience and provide stable services, and in this case, changes shall be notified in a way that is easily accessible by users (official community, in-game connection screen, etc.).

④ Matters not specified in this Operation Policy shall be handled in accordance with the Service Terms and Conditions, relevant laws, and other general social norms.

 

2. Roles and Activities of the GM

① The GM shall comply with the Company’s personal information processing policy and related laws, and except as provided in the Service Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, GM shall not request or disclose the user's personal information. However, if there is a legal obligation to disclose such information through legal procedures to government institutions or judicial institutions, personal information may be provided within the scope of its obligation.

② The GM shall not provide benefits to specific users or provide information such as updates and events other than those officially disclosed.

③ The GM shall handle user inquiries and requests. However, depending on the volume and content of inquiries received, responses may inevitably be delayed, and the GM may provide limited answers or may not respond to undisclosed information or other subject matter that cannot be disclosed due to the nature of the game.

④ The GM shall strive to provide stable services to users, including problem solving and responding to service situations. If an abnormal phenomenon occurs within or outside the game service, access to part or all of the service may be temporarily suspended or restricted.

⑤ The GM shall perform its assigned role as a neutral party, and the Company policy is not to intervene in disputes between users. However, if a dispute between users constitute a violation of  this Operation Policy or it is determined that normal operation is prevented by such dispute, such users may be issued warnings for such behavior or restricted from using the game.

 

3. Rights and Obligations of the User

① Ownership of game content, such as in-game characters and items, is vested with the Developer and Company, and users may use game content in accordance with the Service Terms and Conditions and shall comply with this Operation Policy. The Company shall not be responsible for losses incurred by restrictions on use of the service due to violation of the Operation Policy or behavior that does not conform to social norms.

② In the event that the GM investigates abnormal play behavior to maintain order in the game, the user shall cooperate as much as possible with the GM’s requests. In the event that the user does not comply or cooperate without any special reason, it may be reasonably determined that the user is attempting to commit an action that is not permitted by the Company.

③ In the event that a user discovers vulnerability in the service, he or she must report it through the Customer Center (1:1 Inquiry), etc., and in case of misusing such vulnerability for the purpose of making profit or disseminating it to others, the user may be restricted from using the game. 

④ In the event that the user incurs any loss or damage by using a program not officially provided by the Company, the Company shall not be responsible for such loss or damage.

⑤ The user must enter his or her accurate personal information when signing up. In the event that the user steals someone else’s personal information or registers false information, he or she may not claim protection for his or her rights, and he or she shall be held responsible for the theft of personal information.

⑥ The user shall make every effort to safely protect his or her account and device from the fraudulent actions of other users, such as periodically changing the password of the account being used. In case of loss or damage incurred due to the user’s negligence, such as transfer, sale, or rental to a third party, the user shall be responsible for the results.

 

4. Usage Restriction Policy

① The types of usage restrictions are as follows. In the event that the user is found to have committed any of the acts listed in the Usage Restriction Standard Table, he or she may be subject to strict usage restrictions and account penalties according to the following principles.

  1. Warning: Temporary measures such as a caution/warning from the GM, temporary game usage restrictions, behavioral restrictions, etc.
  2. Usage restriction for a certain period of time: Measures to restrict the usage of the game and related services for a certain period of time
  3. Permanent usage restriction: Measures to restrict the usage of the game and related services permanently
  4. Content usage restriction: A measure to restrict the use of content related to the violation for a certain period. This applies to account or guild-level restrictions on various aspects of the game, such as chat, arena, and cooperative play.
  5. IP usage restriction: Measures to restrict service usage from specific IPs
  6. Name change: Measures to forcibly change a character name or guild name that violates the naming policy
  7. PC/device usage restriction: Measures to restrict service usage on specific PCs/devices
  8. Game information adjustment: Measures to change, delete, or reset the quantity and nature of all quantifiable information acquired through the game system, such as character information, items, and in-game currencies related to Game Information Adjustment

② Depending on the degree of violation of the Operation Policy, the Company may apply the types of usage restrictions pursuant to Section 1 simultaneously, and in this case, measures may be taken against the user based on the most serious violation.

③ In cases where the violation of operational policies is minor, restrictions may be applied at a lower level than the criteria outlined in the Usage Restriction Standard Table. Alternatively, limitations may be replaced with content usage restrictions or may be replaced with a simple warning.

④ In the event that the degree of violation of the Operation Policy is serious (repeated violations, strong negative impact from violation), a more severe type of usage restriction may be applied.

⑤ Usage of all or part of the service may be temporarily restricted during the period necessary to investigate the facts and take action regarding violations of the Operation Policy.

⑥ In the event that it is not stipulated in the Usage Restriction Standard Table, restrictions on use may be applied depending on the severity of acts that have a negative impact on the game, cause harm to other users, or violate relevant laws.

⑦ In the event that multiple users have committed the same violation, the Company may determine the type of usage restriction and implement measures depending on the severity of each user’s violation.

⑧ The Company may recall items related to violations of the Operation Policy and adjust game information. In cases where it is difficult to calculate related benefits, the Company may take measures such as deleting game information or restricting service usage. In the event that it is difficult to adjust the collection and game information because the user does not have the benefits, items, or in-game currencies corresponding to the relevant benefits, such benefits may be recovered, or collection may continue until recovery is complete.

⑨ Restrictions on use due to violations may also be applied to users who facilitate or collude in other users’ violations of the Operation Policy, or users who assist in or gain unfair advantage from violations of the Operation Policy.

⑩ In the event that a user acquires an item that another user obtained by violating the Operation Policy, even if the user did not directly violate the Operation Policy, the Company may recall related items and adjust game information, and he/she may be subject to additional usage restrictions in accordance with the Operation Policy.

⑪ For violations occurred during account theft, transaction, transfer, or sharing due to the user’s carelessness, both the party who violated the Operation Policy and the user who is the account holder may be held liable, and usage restrictions may be applied to both parties’ accounts.

⑫ Depending on the severity of the matter, the Company may request an investigation or help from the relevant authorities and judicial agencies. Users who commit violations may incur civil/criminal legal liability accordingly.

⑬ In the event of a usage restriction, a part or all of the target character name may be disclosed, and the user may be excluded from participating in an event or from being eligible to win the event.

⑭ In the event that an abnormal access or suspected botting is confirmed from a specific IP and PC/device, IP usage restrictions and PC/device usage restrictions may apply.

⑮ In the event that a user is restricted from use, he or she may file an appeal through the Customer Center (1:1 Inquiry) within 15 days from the date of application. In the event that a user is compelled to change his or her name, the user may apply for a change through the Customer Center (1:1 Inquiry) within 15 days to a character name/guild name on the condition it does not violate the naming policy.

※ The degree of use/abuse of game errors and the level of restrictions on use are determined by comprehensively considering the game error and the degree of negative impact caused by the violation (economic balance in the game, impact on other users, etc.).

※ Any advantages obtained through violations of the Operational Policy are subject to retrieval and collection at any time. 

※ 100% of unfairly obtained benefits may not be recovered, or depending on the severity, use of the game may be permanently restricted immediately.

※ In the event that such behavior is confirmed to continuously originate from a specific IP or PC/device, measures such as restrictions on that IP and PC/device use may be taken.

※ In the event that 100% of unfairly obtained benefits cannot be recovered etc., depending on the severity, use of the game may be restricted for at least 30 days .

※ In the event of errors that have a large impact on the health of the game (such as in-game economy balancing, impact on other users etc.), a judgement will be made by the Developer and Company in regards to the level of restriction applied.

⑥ Using, sharing, or disseminating programs that may infringe upon the Company’s copyright, such as altering, damaging, or counterfeiting game data or programs

⑦ Impairing the game environment through abnormal sign-up, access, usage, etc.

 

※ In the event that such behavior is confirmed to continuously come from a specific IP or PC/device, measures such as restrictions on that IP and/or PC/device use may be taken.

※ Violations of this item may result in an investigation by the relevant authorities and judicial agencies.

Detection of multiple accounts and collective abnormal play patterns

① Where it is determined through the security and system log analysis system that unauthorized programs or abnormal play patterns (workplace) were used

② Creating a large number or group of characters with similar patterns and using the game to adversely affect specific content, play the game, or acquire items

③ An act in which multiple accounts play in an abnormal manner on the same or similar network, which may have a negative impact on the game economy or impair the game experience

④ Accessing or attempting to access a specific time, place, or multiple accounts on the same or similar network with abnormal intentions

 

※ In the event that such behavior is continuously confirmed to come from a specific IP, measures such as restrictions on  that IP use may be taken.

Proxy Gaming (Account Sharing)

① Participating in competitions or other competitive content using another person's account, thereby influencing the outcomes.

② Engaging in behavior that disrupts normal game operations using another person's account.

③ Using someone else's account to access game content, or allowing others to use your account for game content, thereby gaining unfair advantages.

 

※ If a third party violates the Terms of Service or Operational Policy using your account during account sharing, sanctions may be applied to both the account holder and the account involved.

5. Guild Policy

① Users are free to choose and create a guild name. However, if the created guild violates the criteria set out in '4. Usage Restriction Policy', it may be subject to separate sanctions.

② The transfer of guild master privileges must be done directly by the guild master to another guild member. However, if the guild master has not logged into the game for more than 7 days, the guild master status will automatically be delegated to a qualifying guild member based on the following criteria:

  1. Guild members who have logged into the game within the last 7 days.
  2. Guild members with higher ranks.
  3. If ranks are equal, the member with the higher accumulated contribution to the guild.
  4. If accumulated contributions are equal, the member who joined the guild first.

③ If a guild master disband the guild, restoration of the guild is not possible.

 

6. Restrictions on usage, reporting procedures, filing an appeal, and how to apply for consultation

① The procedures for reporting other users’ violations of the Service Terms and Conditions and Operation Policy and the usage restriction procedures are as follows.

- Violation → (Report) → Investigation → (Prior notice) → Restrictions on use → Filing of appeal → Notice of results of appeal

- Account theft reports and damage investigations may be submitted within 15 days from the date that damage occurred.

- Appeals may be filed within 15 days from the time usage restrictions are applied. At the end of the data retention period for the grounds for game usage restrictions, an appeal cannot be filed.

② The post-report investigation may take some time, and in some cases, a re-investigation may be conducted.

③ During the process of investigation, if necessary, accounts under investigation and related accounts may be temporarily restricted from using the game and related services. In such cases, the user shall be notified of the reason for the temporary usage restriction and how to file an appeal.

④ In the event that usage has been restricted, the Company shall notify the user of the details, reasons, method of filing an appeal, etc. through e-mail, in-game mail, or a pop-up window on the game’s initial screen. However, for some acts separately stipulated in the Service Terms and Conditions and cases where urgent action is required, the notification will be made after proper measures have been taken. 

⑤ In the event that the user’s appeal filing is determined to be reasonable, the Company shall lift the usage restrictions applied to the user or restore adjusted game information.

⑥ In the event that the usage restriction items are changed through an appeal after the usage restriction has been implemented, the restriction period according to the changed usage restrictions shall apply retroactively from the time the first usage restrictions began.

⑦ In the event that an appeal is not filed within the deadline during temporary usage restrictions, the temporary usage restrictions shall remain in place, and even if an appeal is filed, if the content is not judged reasonable, the account shall be immediately restricted for a period of time or permanently.

⑧ Users may report, file an appeal, and apply for consultation on various inquiries through 1:1 Inquiry of the Customer Center.

 

7. Recovery support policy

① In the event that game information such as items, goods, in-game currencies or levels acquired by the user in the process of using the game service is lost or changed due to a technical error of the Company, the Company shall strive to recover the materials and information to the extent that it can be confirmed through objective data and information.

② If necessary for operational or technical reasons, the Company may modify, change, or delete the contents of the game service, and recovery shall be limited for corrections, changes, or deletions of the user’s game usage information resulting from this. The same shall apply to paid content, and in this case, the Company shall compensate the member with other items of similar value that can be used in the game, and users may not claim separate compensation for damages related to the Company’s measures.

③ Only in cases that meet the standards below, the Company may support and review limited recovery of lost or changed game information, etc. to the extent possible.

  1. Where the recovery is unlikely to cause damage to other users, such as causing an imbalance in the game balance or violating fairness
  2. Where there is no possibility of abuse for the purpose of gaining benefits
  3. Where it is technically or physically difficult, or does not place a burden on the Company’s system

④ Recovery support must be applied with accurate information through 1:1 Inquiry of the Customer Center within 7 days from the date of occurrence. After 7 days, some parts of the data may not be restored as it may be difficult or time-consuming to check the data.

⑤ In the event that the game information changes due to the user playing the game before recovery is completed, only partial recovery support may be available, or recovery processing may not be possible.

⑥ Applications for recovery support must be submitted directly by the account on which the problem occurred, and submission by accounts on behalf of other accounts is not permitted.

⑦ The following cases shall not be subject to recovery or compensation for damages.

  1. Where the loss or change cannot be confirmed through objective data such as game data
  2. Where the loss or change occurred in a network environment that is not caused by the Company’s intentional or gross negligence
  3. Where the loss or change occurred due to failure to understand the game system, Operation Policy, and contents announced on the game and website
  4. Where the loss or change occurred due to the user’s negligence or the user’s usage environment
  5. Where damage such as theft occurred due to user’s insufficient protection of its account information and device 
  6. Where game services are used in a manner not recognized by the Company, such as account trading/sharing or use of unauthorized programs
  7. Where the loss or change was caused by issues arising between users without the Company's intervention, such as in-game fraud
  8. Where there is a violation of system settings or a possibility of abuse within the game
  9. Other cases that fall under the Company’s grounds for indemnification specified in the Company’s Service Terms and Conditions
  10.  Use or expiration due to normal usage of the game system

⑧ In case of providing recovery support, use of the game may be restricted if the Operation Policy is abused.

 

8. Long-Term Inactive Name Policy

① To enhance service and ensure smooth game operations, the company reserves the right to arbitratily change character and guild names based on the following criteria: 

  1. Characters that have not been logged in for over 1 year from their last game connection. 
  2. Guilds with members whose last game connection dates exceed 1 year. 

* In cases where character names or guild names are changed to due to long-term inactivity, the company will provide advance notice through a website announcement 30 days prior to the scheduled change, detailing the date and nature of the changes. 

 

9. Policy for the protection of adolescents

① Adolescents are able to make decisions on information about themselves, and the Company shall strive to ensure that the judgments and decisions regarding personal information that adolescents make on their own are protected.

② The Company is committed to protecting adolescents from harmful content, and strictly manages acts that may put adolescents at risk, such as exposing harmful content to adolescents or causing damage related to personal information.

 

  1. Personal information includes information that can identify an individual by itself, as well as information that can identify an individual when combined with other information, and adolescents shall be careful not to expose personal information such as their mobile phone number, name, address, photo, date of birth, and social media information to others.
  2. The user may request deletion of personal information registered by him or her or a third party while he or she was still an adolescent, and it may be deleted or hidden without notice at the request of the user or a third party.
  3. Obtaining or attempting to acquire personal information of adolescents, or stealing or distributing personal information, is prohibited.
  4. Swearing, belittlement, insults, or unethical acts or actions targeting adolescents are prohibited.
  5. Any act that exposes harmful information, such as mentioning or implying sexual content to adolescents or causing them to feel discomfort of a sexual manner, that attempts to build an emotional relationship for the purpose of sexual contact, or that attempts to or arranges to meet outside of the service is prohibited.
  6. In the event that such acts are discovered, use of the service may be restricted, and the Company may request for help from and cooperate with the relevant authorities and judicial agencies in an investigation.
